Cherish as much as the chances there are

Lies within a hill, just by the river’s reach, a small town resides. There, small and happy families are everywhere. Smiles shown just for the sake of lightening the others. But it’s not just as simple as how everything would seem. Each person has problems of their own. Whether it can be solved or not. Each person have a scar that they carry, either it can be seen or not. For some, both. Those burdens, carried by their own. At times, lifted, and at times, more are placed, and sometimes, a friend helps us carry some. But just like many, this boy, namely Sheen. An ordinary boy who sees but blindly for he did not able to perceive but his own view.

Sheen, just like most fortunate other. He has a family that cares for him. Food rations enough to fill him. A decent place to live. And the core of a family, ‘Love’. He’s a good boy. Nevertheless, everyone has a bad side to them. One most troubling is his selfishness, and a principle of his that is the only person needed to take care of someone is him/herself. Meaning he cares for no one. He does things for other only whenever it benefits him. His sister, is the one who always takes care of him, to the point where a week ago, she had enough, and decided to not care anymore (a fight, obviously). One time, a terrorist runs into hiding at the town, escaping polices. It wasn’t long before polices managed to force the terrorist to come out of his hiding. But instead of ensuring the town’s safety, it leads to danger. The terrorist took hostages of the townspeople, including Sheen. The condition can’t seem to get better. With more of the police’s forces coming, the terrorist became reckless due to intimidation. He takes a hostage, unfortunate enough, it was Sheen. What he could feel is only a cold edge, of blade hold against his neck, voracious to shed and to bathe itself in the ruby liquid. As how it seems the unfortunate turns of events are taken, it simply get worse and worse. Sheen’s family tried to rescue him, resulting in only bruises, ruining both the body and hopes. The tension gets worse, and the terrorist decides upon a odious act, to take the hostages life, then to leave everything behind by ultimately taking his own life. As seconds pass slowly for every sides. Cold sweats, emotions, resentments, memories, and stories fuse up. All sheen could feel by then was fear, and a blow on his waist, then all that he can see, with tears and all, as a blade is nesting on his sister body, and then as The man besides him fell on his knees, head down, covered with scarlet petals dripping by his forehead, commenced by a loud staggering sound of trigger from an officer.

As tears flowed, Sheen reaches his sister, then seeing the pale face of his sister, skin as white as snow, and an overall expressive of a white chrysanthemum. The only thing that he could’ve done then, was to embrace his sister, panicking over as he sees his hand after holding her, was dyed crimson. Trembling over fear, flashing moments of when his sister took place over his. It all went black by him, odious. The only thing visible is his sister, and memories of how he treated her badly. The paramedic nearby, quickly treated her, taking her away, either to save a life, or to take her forever. A sudden occurrence of changes applies to him. He then pledges to himself to change, and to live for the sake of his loved ones, as his sister fell asleep to deep slumber in comatose state. The only thing fortunate is that he can still see her, alive, though lifeless. At best, he doesn’t need to realize what’s important to him by having to lose, to understand.
